Chest Freezer Design Features

The chest freezer range and individual component parts have been developed and manufactured to provide the customer a value for money quality product with excellent energy efficiency.

Insulation

The freezer shell and lid are bonded together with the highest quality, energy efficient polyurethane. This reduces the penetration of ambient heat, allowing the thermostat control to cut off the compressor for long periods of time. The polyurethane efficiency also allows the customer 18 to 24 hours to relocate food, in the event of a power loss.

Compressor

The compressors used have been selected for their efficiency and size, balancing the refrigerant cycle, to allow good flow and pressure characteristics.

Evaporator

The evaporator has been balanced to allow optimum flow of the refrigerant gas, through its’ various stages. The liquid line controls the pressure and flow, enabling the refrigerant vapour to collect the heat at an effective rate, without placing a high workload on the compressor.

Condenser

Proven to be more energy efficient than a skin condenser, the Norfrost condenser is mounted externally. This heat is expelled efficiently and effectively, allowing the gas to condense and create the optimum system pressure.

Thermostat

The thermostats used have been thoroughly tested and are manufactured to our own requirements. The temperature range being formulated to meet the optimum features of the polyurethane. The thermostat is in direct contact with the evaporator, giving a fast cut-off response, allowing longer periods of “off time”.

Refrigerant Gas

R600a Isobutane is an efficient refrigerant gas that has zero ozone depletion qualities.
